Details & Information
You get up to that break - and you've got choices to make! Flip to head? Push that chest sound to it's screaming limit? Wait! Learn to Access the Power of the Mixed Voice! Mixed voice is not about fighting register changes, it's about finding a way to create the auditory illusion that you're in one register. Eliminate all evidence of your break with these helpful exercises and tips from SingWise founder Karyn O'Connor. Karyn O'Connor has been teaching voice for thirteen years, both online and in-studio to teens and adults of various styles and skill levels, from beginner to professional. She draws from a number of disciplines, methods, and resources - from the Alexander Technique to bel canto to speech-language pathology - to create a flexible and individualized approach that helps students achieve their singing goals. Between her website (singwise.com), YouTube channel (singwisevocals), and workshops, She has a well-established online presence internationally. She's been involved in contemporary worship leadership roles at various churches and festivals, and teaches a cappella singing classes to tweens and teens. As a singer, she got her start back in elementary school, where she performed in several plays and talent shows, then founded a teen quartet that performed at local churches. She studied bel canto vocal technique privately with Mitch Seekins for nearly nine years and later studied vocal technique under Daniel Formica. She performs original rock music and pop covers at coffee houses, festivals, and concerts.
