🎤 Join Us for the Sunday Vocal Jazz Jam Featuring Elena Camerin Young! 🎶 Every First Sunday of the Month at 6 PM ET, the JazzVoice.com community comes together virtually for an inspiring jam session featuring both established and up-and-coming artists. This is your chance to perform and connect with fellow vocalists, or simply enjoy the music and learn from the experience. This month the series welcomes back Colorado-based, Italian jazz vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and avant garde improviser Elena Camerin Young! Performing with her amazing partner guitarist Khabu Young! Born in Venice, Italy, Elena began her musical studies on piano and later on voice at the "Thelonious Monk" jazz school with Carla Marcotulli; moreover, she studied opera with soprano Francesca Scaini. In 1992, she attended the clinic of Bob Stoloff in Umbria Jazz '92 and participated in master-classes and workshops with, amongst others, Jay Clayton, Sheila Jordan, Mark Murphy, and Meredith Monk. In 2008 Elena moved to New York City where she became part of the underground jazz scene, performing and working with many musicians of the New York Area and experimenting with actors, poets, dancers and filmmakers. Since August 2015 she has been based in Boulder, Colorado, where she performs with many musicians and artists of the greater Denver area, teaches voice at the Naropa University, founded the "Nalanda Ensemble", started the monthly series for free improvisers "OH SNAP!" and serves on the board of the "Creative Music Works." ✨ How to Join: Participate live on Zoom or watch the livestream on Facebook or YouTube. There's no penalty for cancelling, and it has no impact on your access. As a member, you also have unlimited access to both live classes and video recordings of all past sessions. For One-Off Class Purchasers ($20 per class): Your $20 purchase gives you access only to the live session—recordings are not included. If you’d prefer to watch the class later, you can purchase just the video (without attending live) for $20. Video recordings are available under the Videos tab at JazzVoice.com. Please be sure you can attend before booking, as we do not offer refunds for missed or cancelled classes.
