Rosana will sing a few songs for us live. Then we'll hear three volunteer singers perform and she'll give them feedback or discuss topics they're interested in. You can sing or just watch! Praised as a world-class artist, and with an international reputation in several facets of the music industry, Rosana Eckert wears many hats as a versatile live and studio vocalist, a dynamic improviser, a creative songwriter and arranger, and a masterful educator of jazz and voice. As a solo artist, her shows are an effortless blend of tradition and originality, sincerity and virtuosity, humor and heart. With strong and ever-present jazz roots, she bounces from genre to genre, creating special featured moments for her band mates and taking listeners on a musical adventure such that they feel included, entertained, and inspired. She has performed and recorded with many jazz luminaries, including Christian McBride, Bobby McFerrin, Kenny Wheeler, Marvin Stamm, and the New York Voices, and recently, she was one of the three vocalists on the Grammy Award-winning composition “Eberhard,” released posthumously by legendary jazz pianist Lyle Mays in August 2021. A renowned educator, Rosana is Principal Lecturer of jazz voice at the University of North Texas. She has helped build the thriving UNT vocal jazz department since 1999.

For One-Off Class Purchasers ($15 per class): Your $15 purchase gives you access only to the live session—recordings are not included. If you’d prefer to watch the class later, you can purchase just the video (without attending live) for $15. Video recordings are available under the Videos tab at JazzVoice.com. Please be sure you can attend before booking, as we do not offer refunds for missed or cancelled classes.
