Description du service

Although your vocal folds are no larger than your thumbnail, they can certainly generate some remarkable sounds. However, they can also become weakened due to lack of training and age related issues (atrophy) which can result in complaints of hoarseness, fatigue and discomfort after use. The good news is that science has given the voice world a wealth of information on how to regulate and strengthen the singing voice through coordination of airflow ( breath) muscular contractions and resonance. This workshop will explore the vocal physiology behind 3 exercises and how they specifically aid in strengthening and coordinating the vocal mechanism. About Rosemary: With a career spanning more than three decades, Rosemary Ostrowski offers a rare and powerful combination of expertise as a performer, teacher, and voice therapist. Rosemary spent 14 years singing on opera stages at home and abroad after completing four years of rigorous training at AVA. However, her burning questions about the mechanics of the voice led her to the field of voice science and speech pathology, where she earned her MS to finally uncover concrete, anatomical answers for singers. Rosemary’s unique background allows her to speak the language of the performer while applying rigorous scientific principles to voice care. Having spent over two decades as a voice specialist at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, she has rehabilitated and coached elite vocalists across every genre imaginable—rock, musical theatre, jazz and classical vocal styles. Whether working with high-profile artists or local performers in her Philadelphia-based private practice, Rosemary provides science-backed voice care that keeps artists healthy, confident, and singing at their absolute best.
