Ann Hampton Callaway
Learn from a Legend of Song
Details & Information
Ann Hampton Callaway is one of the foremost interpreters of the Great American Songbook and a celebrated force in jazz and popular music. A Tony-nominated Broadway star (Swing!), award-winning songwriter (with seven cuts on Barbra Streisand albums), and the composer and voice behind The Nanny theme song, Ann brings a lifetime of experience as a performer, composer, arranger, and educator. An inductee to the Women Songwriter's Hall of Fame, she is the only composer to have collaborated with Cole Porter and has also written with legends like Carole King and Barbara Carroll. Ann’s career spans symphony stages, jazz clubs, and film and television, where her improvisational skills and deep emotional connection to the music set her apart. Having performed with over thirty major orchestras and worked alongside Wynton Marsalis, Keith Lockhart, and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, she now shares her wealth of knowledge with students looking to grow as singers, storytellers, and interpreters of classic and contemporary song.
