Are you interested in adding a personal touch to the way you perform jazz repertoire, but don’t know where to start or feel overwhelmed by the options? In this workshop, Kat will walk us through simple and effective arranging techniques that will help you add your own musical perspective to classic standards! Kat will give us a checklist of the elements of arranging to help you craft small scale arrangements that will have a big impact! Kat Sherman is a jazz vocalist, composer, arranger, and teaching artist based in Chicago, IL. She has released recordings with bassist Hannah Marks, and been a featured vocalist on recordings with the University of North Texas Jazz Singers, and the Two O'Clock Band. As a passionate composer/arranger and educator, Kat is currently on the Jazz Studies faculty at DePaul University, teaching applied jazz voice, ear training and jazz piano courses, and directing the DePaul Vocal Jazz Ensemble. Her debut album of original compositions and arrangements is slated for release in 2025.

If you’d prefer to watch the class later, you can purchase just the video (without attending live) for $15. Video recordings are available under the Videos tab at JazzVoice.com. Please be sure you can attend before booking, as we do not offer refunds for missed or cancelled classes.
