Matt Baker is a New York City–based jazz pianist, accompanist, and vocal coach, and the creator of The Ultimate Live Singer, a widely respected online training program for vocalists. Over the course of his career, Matt has accompanied thousands of singers and spent more than 15 years coaching vocalists at every stage—particularly those transitioning into jazz from musical theater, cabaret, pop, or classical backgrounds, as well as seasoned artists looking to deepen their artistry. His coaching focuses on the real-world skills singers need to thrive: shaping compelling shows and arrangements, developing scat singing and improvisation, refining phrasing and time feel, learning how to work effectively with pianists and bands, accompanying oneself, creating backing and practice tracks, and—most importantly—becoming a confident, effective leader on stage. Matt is known for his practical, musician-centered approach that empowers singers to sound better, communicate clearly, and perform with authority in live settings.

Please review the following important policies before finalizing your booking: 📅 Flexible Scheduling Notice The availability you see when booking is an estimate based on the teacher’s general availability. Many of our instructors are touring artists and active performers, so the exact time you select may not be possible. After booking, you’ll be connected directly with your teacher to confirm or reschedule your lesson. ⏰ Booking Window To help ensure smooth scheduling and preparation, we don't permit you to book lessons less than 48 hours in advance.
