Nancy Marano is an internationally acclaimed jazz vocalist, arranger, and educator. She has recorded 8 albums as a leader, including one with the 62-piece Dutch Metropole Orchestra featuring arrangements by Manny Albam, and has performed with jazz greats such as Gerry Mulligan, Michel Legrand, and Dick Hyman. Her work has been profiled by The New Yorker, CBS Sunday Morning, The Wall Street Journal, and NPR’s Crossover. A highly sought-after clinician, Nancy chaired the jazz voice department at William Paterson University for 25 years and taught at Manhattan School of Music for 20. Her students include many successful artists—among them JazzVoice director Alexis Cole. Vocal Performance Lessons Build your unique sound and musicality while developing a strong foundation in pitch and vocal technique. Explore swing and ballad styles, performance preparation, repertoire building, and strategies for overcoming stage anxiety. Piano & Musicianship Learn basic keyboard skills, chord voicings, scales, improvisation, reading in two clefs, and self-accompaniment—ideal for singers who want more independence and musical fluency. Please review the following important policies before finalizing your booking: 📅 Flexible Scheduling Notice The availability you see when booking is an estimate based on the teacher’s general availability. Many of our instructors are touring artists and active performers, so the exact time you select may not be possible. After booking, you’ll be connected directly with your teacher to confirm or reschedule your lesson. ⏰ Booking Window To help ensure smooth scheduling and preparation, we don't permit you to book lessons less than 48 hours in advance.
