🎶 Summer Swing Sessions with Stephanie Nakasian 5-week online workshop | Tuesdays Starting July 14 | 7:00–8:00 PM ET Improvisation doesn’t have to be intimidating—it’s simply the art of making a song your own. In this 6-week series, Stephanie Nakasian will guide you step-by-step through the core elements of jazz improvisation in a way that feels natural, musical, and fun. You’ll explore: Re-shaping lyrics (“recomposition”) to tell your story Playing with melody and rhythm Scat singing over chord changes Phrasing like an instrumentalist Using syllables and sound to enhance groove and meaning Letting your improvisation feel organic and expressive Through practical exercises and guided exploration, you’ll build confidence, flexibility, and a deeper connection to the music—no heavy theory required. A keyboard nearby is helpful, but not required. Even if you never plan to scat on stage, learning to improvise will transform your phrasing, your time feel, and your storytelling. Take the dive. Break the mold. Make the song yours.

🎶 JazzVoice Member Class Booking & Cancellation Policy For JazzVoice Members: ($45/month $460/year) If you have an active JazzVoice membership, you're welcome to book and cancel member classes at any time. There's no penalty for cancelling, and it has no impact on your access. As a member, you also have unlimited access to both live classes and video recordings of all past sessions. For One-Off Class Purchasers ($15 per class): Your $15 purchase gives you access only to the live session—recordings are not included. If you’d prefer to watch the class later, you can purchase just the video (without attending live) for $15. Video recordings are available under the Videos tab at JazzVoice.com. Please be sure you can attend before booking, as we do not offer refunds for missed or cancelled classes.
