Finding Your Voice with Paul Jost Join acclaimed vocalist, arranger, and storyteller Paul Jost for an inspiring workshop on Finding Your Voice. Through a mix of self-discovery and practical techniques, Paul will guide you in making a song truly your own while staying open to new possibilities. This class will explore: Developing your unique vocal identity Playing well with others and fostering musical connection Expressive phrasing and personalizing a song Making scatting and soloing feel natural and believable Spontaneous arranging on the gig Setting up a song for maximum impact With Paul’s insightful approach, you’ll learn to embrace your individuality while enhancing your ability to collaborate and communicate musically. Whether you’re a vocalist or an instrumentalist, this workshop will help you unlock new levels of expression and artistry. Vocalist, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist Paul Jost is a passionate storyteller and one of the most acclaimed male jazz vocalists since Mark Murphy. Known for his emotive style and versatility, Paul has performed worldwide, with notable appearances at NYC’s 55 Bar, SMOKE, and Dizzy’s Club at Lincoln Center, as well as major festivals like Exit Zero and the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival. After years as a sideman collaborating with legends like Billy Eckstine, Dr. John, and Ron Carter, Paul launched his solo vocal career in 2014 with his album "Breaking Through." His follow-up album, "Simple Life," features his quartet and special guest Joe Locke. A frequent guest lecturer and teacher, Paul inspires audiences and students of all ages with workshops on “Finding Your Voice.”  Residing in Southern New Jersey, Paul continues to enrich the jazz world with his unique artistry and passion for music.
