Join acclaimed trombonist, vocalist, and educator Hailey Brinnel for an inspiring master class exploring jazz improvisation, scat singing, and creative expression. Based in Philadelphia, Hailey has performed at some of the world's most respected venues, including Dizzy's Club, Birdland, Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, and the North Sea Jazz Festival. A finalist in the 2021 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, she has shared the stage with renowned artists and ensembles including The Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra, the Philly Pops, Sherrie Maricle and the DIVA Jazz Orchestra, Anat Cohen, Ingrid Jensen, Camille Thurman, and Terell Stafford. As both an accomplished instrumentalist and vocalist, Hailey brings a unique perspective to improvisation, helping singers develop stronger musical instincts, greater rhythmic freedom, and a deeper connection to the language of jazz. An active educator on the faculties of The University of the Arts and the Kimmel Center, she regularly presents workshops and clinics on jazz improvisation and scat singing for students of all levels. Whether you're new to improvisation or looking to deepen your artistic voice, this session will offer practical tools, musical insights, and plenty of inspiration from one of today's most dynamic young jazz artists.

There's no penalty for cancelling, and it has no impact on your access. As a member, you also have unlimited access to both live classes and video recordings of all past sessions. For One-Off Class Purchasers ($20 per class): Your $20 purchase gives you access only to the live session—recordings are not included. If you’d prefer to watch the class later, you can purchase just the video (without attending live) for $20. Video recordings are available under the Videos tab at JazzVoice.com. Please be sure you can attend before booking, as we do not offer refunds for missed or cancelled classes.
