Descrizione del servizio
In this dynamic Master Class, La Tanya Hall will open by performing two songs live, then work closely with three participating singers. Through real-time coaching, she’ll focus on interpretation, phrasing, emotional connection, and taking creative risks while staying grounded in the song—offering practical tools for making the Great American Songbook feel fresh, personal, and alive. La Tanya Hall is widely regarded as one of today’s most compelling jazz vocalists, praised for her powerfully sensuous sound, musical intelligence, and magnetic stage presence. Her acclaimed debut recording, It’s About Time, established her as a major voice in jazz, earning international recognition for her inventive interpretations. Her remarkable versatility has led to collaborations with an extraordinary range of artists, including Diana Ross, Bobby McFerrin, Harry Belafonte, Michael McDonald, Burt Bacharach, Quincy Jones, Aretha Franklin, Rob Thomas, and Patti LaBelle, along with appearances as a soloist with major symphony orchestras. A longtime member of Bobby McFerrin’s all-improvised vocal ensemble Voicestra, Hall brings a deep command of listening, spontaneity, and ensemble awareness to her work. She is also a respected educator and currently teaches at Oberlin Conservatory of Music, making this Master Class a rare chance to learn from an artist who bridges world-class performance and pedagogy.
