From Luxury Retail to Sultry Time Feel

Member Spotlight: Carolyn Lee Jones

From Alexis: Vocalist Carolyn Lee Jones has been a member of JazzVoice.com from its inception, joining on June 14, 2020! Her new Christmas CD is on the Charts! Check it Out! I love Carolyn's story, from a full time lifelong career as a department store buyer she transitioned into a full time vocalist!

Since launching her music career in 2008, Carolyn has independently released four CDs and three singles on the Catn’round Sound label. Her first recording featured the late composer and singer Bob Dorough on piano and a vocal duet on his very famous song “ Devil May Care.”

Carolyn develops and performs Cabaret-Jazz shows including “Pardon My Southern Accent” and “Too Marvelous For Words” (the music of Johnny Mercer), “Songs From My Mother’s Piano Bench” (a romp through the Great American Songbook), “Hooray For The Girls” (jazz & vintage pop female composers and lyricists) and “Girl Talk” ( the music of Julie London and Bobby Troup). From 2010 to 2015 she was a principal alto with The New Collection, a 20 voice a cappella group led by well-known vocal jazz arranger and Professor Emeritus Paris Rutherford of the University of North Texas Vocal Jazz Department.

Her home base is Dallas-Fort Worth where you will find Carolyn performing at numerous venues, festivals and private affairs. Carolyn puts together a stunning show for any occasion, venue or budget. Whether it is for an intimate duo with piano or guitar or an impressive 20 piece big band, it all blends perfectly with her sophisticated style.
