Jam Session + Monthly Orientation
Every month JazzVoice + the Vocal Jazz Summit sponsor the Sunday Vocal Jazz Jam online. Casual, fun, and lively - jam sessions are a great place to try out what you’ve been working on!
Jams are held the first Sunday from 6:00pm - 8:30pm ET and are led by vocalist Jocelyn Medina. Each jam kicks off with a featured artist and then moves into an open session where members can sing for each other, collaborate, and have a ball. You can view the jam on Facebook or Youtube! Join Zoom from a computer (not a tablet or phone).
Update your Zoom app to the latest version.
Click the up arrow next to the mute button (bottom left of your Zoom window).
Select Audio Settings (3rd heading from the top).
Change “Zoom Background Noise Suppression” from Auto to Low. ✅ Done!
🎶 Play your backing track straight from your phone.
💡 Pro Tip: For a lesson, jam, or master class, less is more. You can use a Bluetooth speaker, mic + amp, or an audio interface—but every extra piece of gear adds complexity and a chance for something to go wrong. If you're feeling nervous, keeping your setup simple is the best move.
