Michelle Mailhot
Soulful and Versatile
Michelle Mailhot is in demand as a vocalist, arranger, adjudicator and clinician. In 2019 Ms. Mailhot had the opportunity to sing for Season 3 of The Marvelous Ms. Maisel. In 2014 she had the pleasure of being a jazz soloist celebrating the work of Henry Mancini; sharing the stage with Pete Barbutti and Dick Williams (brother of Andy Williams).
The show, recorded live at the Grand Bohemian Hotel received critical acclaim. Other recent highlights include sold-out audiences at Orlando’s Mad Cow Cabaret as well as being the Vocal Jazz Director at the International Music Camp in North Dakota. Michelle loves to sing jazz, pop and Broadway at concerts, private events, supper clubs and lounges throughout the country.
As an educator, she is currently a member of the jazz faculty at both Rollins College and Valencia College in Orlando, FL and has taught at the Phil Mattson Workshops, the Disney Sings Workshops, and Zegree Vocal Jazz Camps. She has been an adjudicator for many festivals throughout the country and Asia. Michelle has performed and recorded extensively for Walt Disney World.
Michelle tours and performs with the Drama Desk Award-winning group Vox Audio and is a sought-after jazz artist and session singer. She studied extensively with both Phil Mattson and Dr. Stephen Zegree and received her Bachelor of Music Degree from Western Michigan University and received her Master’s Degree from the University of Central Florida. Michelle’s vocal arrangements are performed by high school, college, and professional ensembles throughout the world.
Michelle has performed with Bobby McFerrin, the Billy Taylor Trio, Mel Tormé, Mannheim Steamroller, Max Roach, Sheila Jordan, Sandy Patti, Thomas Dolby, and Liza Minnelli. She is a session singer for radio and television commercials and album recording projects around the country.
She can be heard most recently on her own solo release “Happy Madness” as well as Bobby McFerrin’s latest CD release “Vocabularies.”
